Our Approach

Empowering Civic Engagement

At RDP Uganda, we believe that an active and conscious youth population is essential for the promotion of democratic governance and social justice. Our programs focus on educating young people about their rights and responsibilities as citizens, encouraging them to engage in civic activities, and providing platforms for meaningful participation in governance processes.

Building Civic Competence

We provide comprehensive civic education to young people, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to participate effectively in governance. This includes training on civic rights, democratic principles, and the mechanisms of governance. By building civic competence, we ensure that youth are well-prepared to influence decisions that affect their lives and communities.

Promoting Social Accountability

RDP Uganda fosters social accountability by empowering young people to hold public officials and institutions accountable. We facilitate the creation of youth-led watchdog groups that monitor government programs and projects, ensuring transparency and the proper use of public resources. Our efforts aim to reduce corruption and promote the responsible management of public funds.

Advocating for Human Rights

Human rights are at the core of our work. We advocate for the protection and promotion of the rights of young men and women, especially in areas such as education, employment, and freedom of expression. RDP Uganda collaborates with various stakeholders to address rights abuses and build strong solidarity networks that challenge injustices and promote social justice.

Engaging in Policy Advocacy

We engage in policy advocacy to influence the creation and implementation of youth-friendly policies. By conducting research, generating useful information, and facilitating structured dialogues between youth and policymakers, we ensure that the interests and needs of young people are represented in local and national policies.
