Our strategy
Our strategy for 2024-2028 focuses on empowering Uganda’s youth to become active participants in governance, economic development, and social accountability. We aim to harness the potential of young people to drive change and contribute to sustainable development across the nation.

Our Strategic Priorities
Our strategy is built on five key priority areas, each designed to address the most pressing needs of Uganda’s youth and communities.
- Youth Leadership, Inclusion, and Democracy: Strengthening youth participation in governance and decision-making.
- Youth Livelihoods and Economic Empowerment: Creating opportunities for sustainable livelihoods and economic growth.
- Youth and the Extractive Sector: Engaging youth in the extractive industries and promoting climate-smart practices.
- Rights and Governance: Promoting human rights, social justice, and transparent governance.
- Organizational Effectiveness: Building a strong and sustainable organization to effectively implement our mission.
Youth Leadership, Inclusion, and Democracy
Our strategy focuses on amplifying youth voices in governance and decision-making processes. We are committed to nurturing future leaders through comprehensive training and mentorship programs that equip young people with the skills and knowledge needed to participate actively in governance at local, national, and regional levels. By fostering youth inclusion, we aim to ensure that young people are not just participants but leaders in shaping the policies and decisions that affect their lives.
Youth Livelihoods and Economic Empowerment
Economic empowerment is central to our strategy. We are dedicated to creating opportunities for sustainable livelihoods by connecting youth with markets, financial resources, and employment opportunities. Through advocacy for youth-friendly policies and the development of innovative economic models, we aim to reduce unemployment and poverty among young people in Uganda. Our focus is on empowering the youth to become self-reliant and economically stable, contributing to the broader national development.
Youth and the Extractive Sector
As Uganda’s extractive industries grow, so does the need for youth involvement. Our strategy engages young people in the extractive sector, promoting climate-smart practices and social accountability. We work to ensure that youth are not only beneficiaries but active participants in the industry, advocating for environmental sustainability and ethical practices. By integrating youth into this vital sector, we aim to create long-term economic opportunities while protecting the environment.
Rights and Governance
Human rights and transparent governance are at the heart of our mission. We are committed to promoting social justice by empowering citizens to hold their government accountable. Through civic education, we build the capacity of communities to advocate for their rights and engage in the governance process. Our strategy includes strengthening citizen movements, fostering a culture of transparency, and ensuring that all voices are heard in the democratic process.
